Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) is the closest to the property and is the primary airport serving San José, the capital of Costa Rica.

Location of Casa Bella Vista?

Casa Bella Vista is a gorgeous ocean-front villa located on a 110 foot bluff in a 750 acre gated community of Punta Leona, just 10-15 minutes north of Jaco.

4 King and 1 Queen-sized bed. There are also 2 day beds (Double) in common areas.

Where does the staff live?

Carlos and Gina reside downstairs in separate staff quarters.

When can I arrive?

Check-In is available any time after 4:00 PM.

When do I need to check-out?

Check-out is any time before 10:00 AM.

Does the house have wireless internet?

Yes, there is WiFi throughout the house.

Does the house have a TV?

There are two Smart TVs in the common spaces of the home.

Is there a safe in the house?

Yes. Located in the master bedroom.

Are pets allowed?

While we do love our furry friends, pets are not permitted on the property as there are no areas for them to play or stay as the house is on top of a mountain.

Is the house wheelchair accessible?

Due to the location of the house and the number of stairs, the house is not wheelchair accessible.

Does the house have a landline?

No, but most US cellular providers work in Costa Rica.  You can also purchase SIM cards once you arrive in Costa Rica.

How often are the linens and towels changed?

• Linens: Our standard is to change bed linens every three days.

• Towels: Please reuse your towels by placing them on a hook or towel bar. Fresh towels will be replaced every other day.

What about meals?

Food and beverage costs are the responsibility of the renter.  We are happy to prepare three traditional Costa Rican meals a day which is also included in the rental fee.  For parties of 6 or fewer, meals will be prepared family-style, parties of 7 or more, meals will be prepared buffet-style.

Are there any house rules?

Smoking is not permitted in the house or on property grounds, no pets are allowed, no events, and the house sleeps up to 10 adults.

What if the power goes out?

The house is located in the rain forest and the power sometimes goes out.  The house does have a backup generator, however, does not power the internet.

How to place a phone call?

When calling from a local Costa Rican Phone a country code is not required. If calling from a US Mobile Landline dial 011-506 then the local Costa Rican number. Example: from your USA mobile or landline dial 011 (506) 1-234-5678.

No. Our guest concierge services staff are more than willing to assist with transportation arrangements at normal fees.

I have rented a car and I'm driving, what are the directions to Casa Bella Vista from San Jose airport?

Drive time is approximately 1.5 hours. Our property managers and guest concierge services staff will be in contact with you prior to your arrival and can provide directions to Casa Bella Vista.

If I rent a car, where do I park?

Parking is permitted in the driveway and on the street.

What is the local currency?

The Costa Rican Colon (CRC) is the currency of Costa Rica, but US dollars and credit cards are widely accepted. Some establishments may not accept American Express.

• From Punta Leona Gate to the center of Jaco is 8 miles; the average drive time is 10-15 minutes.

• From the "Casa Bella Vista" house to the beach (Playa Blanca) is less than 0.5 miles and 2 minutes in a car or a 15-minute walk on a paved road.

• From Punta Leona Gate to the house is 4 miles.

What are the seasons in Costa Rica?

High Season runs from late November to late April, which coincides almost perfectly with the chill of winter in the United States, Canada, and Europe.  The high season is also the dry season. Rainy or Green Season is May through November, with September and October having the most rain.

What about Holidays?

Because Costa Rica is a predominantly Roman Catholic country, many of the holidays are church-related.  The big ones are Christmas, New Year’s, and Easter, which are all celebrated for several days. Holy Week (the week preceding Easter) is a huge holiday in Costa Rica, and many families head for the beach.  Also, public transportation is limited on Holy Thursday and Good Friday.
